A1 Women and A1 Girls

Fearless. Growing. United. Our women and girls are helping shape the future of Swiss cricket, competing in Cricket Switzerland’s Women’s League in summer and the Indoor League in winter.

A1 Women

From a basketball court to the international stage

Our story began with a handful of families playing cricket on a local basketball court, just for the joy of it. Tennis balls became hard balls, friendly games became training sessions, and a group of women discovered a passion that would take them further than any of them imagined.

When Cricket Switzerland launched its Women’s League in 2023, A1 Women were there from the very first season, and we have competed ever since, summer and winter. Today, several of our players wear the red and black of the Swiss women’s national team. Switzerland’s first-ever women’s T20 international series, a 4–0 win over Belgium in 2025, included one unforgettable moment: a player from our club taking the field for her country alongside her own daughter, each claiming a wicket in her first over.

In 2026, a second side of newer players, A1 Stars, joined the league programme, proof that every great journey begins with a single step. Whether you’re picking up a bat for the first time or aiming for national colours, your journey can start here.

A1 Girls

The next generation starts here

Some of our youngest players grew up watching their mothers play. Now they’re stepping onto the field themselves.

A1 Girls is our newly formed under-19 team, and it’s already a family affair: three of our players are daughters of A1 Women cricketers, carrying the club’s story into its next chapter. They train with experienced coaches, learn from players who compete at the highest level in Swiss women’s cricket, and grow in skill and confidence with every session.

There’s no separate girls’ league in Switzerland yet, so our girls play where the challenge is real. In summer, they compete alongside A1 Women in Cricket Switzerland’s Women’s League. In winter, they take the field as their own team in the Indoor League, where the seven-a-side format gives every player more time with bat and ball.

We believe these girls are the future of women’s cricket in Switzerland, and we’re building a team big enough to match their ambition. Whether you’ve never held a bat or you’re already hooked on the game, there’s a place for you here.

Training

Cricket all year round, outdoors in summer and indoors through the winter. Join any session; newcomers are always welcome.

Train like a national player

At A1, our women and girls get access to training that’s rare for a community club. Through our partnership with Aneesh Academy, led by Aneesh Kumar of the Swiss men’s national team, you’ll train in high-performance sessions with someone who competes at the highest level. Add weekly team training led by an experienced A1 Men player, plus indoor practice with bowling machines, and you have everything you need to grow your game.

Whether you’re holding a bat for the first time or chasing a place in the national team, you’ll have the coaching, the facilities and the teammates to get there.
